Yay! It is snowing here in Holland, so Astrid must take some time out to play with the snow!

However, while she is out in the snow playing badminton with her new pal “Mr. Snowman,” you might like to take a slippery ride on
Astrid & Her Amazing Brother - Adventure ... Yeehaw!
So Astrid is not the only kiddo in the family, she has one older brother and he’s amazing too! I bet you just cannot wait to meet her mom now, huh? And guess what? She is amazing as well! Hehe ..
Anyhow, at the end of 2001, my brother underwent a massive surgery. The doctors had him on the operation table for nearly five hours with the aim to straighten his back by placing two titanium - pins and screws and everything in his back! Nice!

And after his heavy operation they called Mario and Luigi to move him, his spaghetti-and-meatballs, and his titanium-pins with screws and all to the High Care – section of the hospital. Astrid truly dislikes going there, coz she just hates to see people gasping for air and being kept alive by machinery. However, of course she and her lucky rocket-ship underpants went there to visit her amazing brother! Duh!
But when she saw her amazing brother lying there she felt so much pain and sadness inside of her that she was about to break out in tears. However, it was
her amazing brother himself who would stop her tears from falling and would even make her laugh again!!! Coz even though her brother was full of morphine and was more asleep than awake, he had his clear moments. Although he would sometimes start snoring again in the middle of a phrase! Haha …

Anyhow, I don’t know if any of you out here are familiar with the deceased TV – show
Friends, but when Joey wanted to make a move on a girl, he always uttered the phrase
“How you doing?” and before the operation my brother would always make perfect imitations of Joey and his “How you doing?” - phrase and make Astrid giggle and smile with it and so when Astrid went to see him in High Care, the first thing that he did was his Joey – imitation and after his performance he also dozed off right away! Haha … he did not even wait for the crowd to go wild!
But even with his unstoppable humor, his recovery was long and hard! And then two years later -even though the doctors considered it to be impossible- he broke the titanium - pins, not on one, but on two places, just by walking to the train! I guess being amazing pays its toll! And once again, there was an operation, another ride with Mario and Luigi and the spaghetti-and-meatballs (but this time they were vegetarian), and another day in the High Care – section of the hospital, but due to my brother’s amazing-ness he came out again stronger than ever before!

I vote for a wave for my brother, the Titanium-Man! And now who wants a signed snowball by him? I think I could arrange a few!!! Be quick though, coz the first few posters will get the whitest balls!
All my love,
Astrid.
