Astrid & Her Amazing Hair – Adventure

Not all of Astrid’s adventures that involve her hair take place either under the shower or in front of her mirror, some take place at her hair-dresser.

As a child, Astrid used to go this hair-dresser really nearby until the day came that he cut Astrid’s long hair really short even though Astrid did not ask for it. Astrid then felt like an escaped extra from Planet of the Apes and cried endless tears when she was forced to go to school with her new not-so-super hairdo.

Then she went to the hair-dresser of her mom which is even in another city, but was forced to smile in the mirror while her hair was being cut. Well, Astrid likes to smile, but not when she is forced to!

Then she was biking and found a club named the Hairclub and Astrid thought it would just be the coolest thing to join this club. She wondered whether she would get a cool pin for on her chest, a member-ship card, or maybe they would all go out camping together and stay up all night?

So Astrid went in and loved the club and the people over there they loved Astrid, so Astrid was asked to be a hair-model!

The creations that they made with her hair were unbelievable. Luckily, Astrid has proof that she was not just dreaming away …

Yes, express yourself with your hair that was the theme of the day!

So a crazy and a wild hairdo that was all that Astrid could expect of that day in May or actually in November!

PS: Why are there always people swimming in my coffee? Do you think I can sue them and earn a fortune?

Astrid & Her Amazing Shower – Adventure

I was taking my favorite green dinosaur out for a walk on the Chinese Wall today when I heard a rumor going around.

According to this chap who was about to get the most disgusting haircut, you and your plastic boats were forced to take a bath in milk today instead of in water and the reason for this occurrence appeared to be the fact that Astrid took a very long shower this morning and used up all the water of all inhabitants of Planet Earth. Okay, so blame your beautiful skin on Astrid today!

And after her long shower, Astrid went up to her room, started brushing her hair, and posed her mirror the following question:

“Mirror, mirror on the wall, now tell me, who is the cleanest of all?”

And before Astrid’s mirror could reply and tell Astrid that she was of course the cleanest of all, Astrid noticed that her kiwi-fruit-scented shampoo was still in her hair! Oink!

Astrid reasons that lots of hard work and a lack of sleep sounds like a fair explanation.

But what could Astrid’s friend have been thinking when she decided to go to Paris for the weekend for how on earth are you gonna ask the French folks whether they know where the Easter Bunny has hidden his eggs?

Je ne sais pas !!! [English: I do not know!!!]

Astrid & Her Amazing "I had a really good breakfast today" - Adventure

[Thomas, here it is, I know you handed in a request for this story weeks ago, but it takes great skill to write a catchy story on breakfast! Haha … so I just needed to wait for a little while until my battery was fully charged again. Now are you sure you are up to it? Run if you are scared!!!]

So this morning Astrid got up and thought, “I am gonna have breakfast, it is gonna be eventful, and I am gonna write about it,” and so that’s today’s story!

So at around 8 am, Astrid in her nighty that she had stolen the evening before from her pal, Owl Matt, stumbled down the stairs, got into the kitchen, and made herself a breakfast that would keep her up all day long with a giggling grin on her face as well. Then she ate the entire bowl of her miracle food in rapid speed, took a shower, put on her mini-skirt just to distract people from looking at her giant zit on the middle of her forehead and rushed off to work!

Oh, and don’t worry, the first time Astrid wore her mini-skirt to work she had even asked her boss official permission to wear the skirt, but now she even receives requests of people that it is that time again for Astrid to show up at work in her mini-skirt.

The End.

Nah, even though Astrid’s breakfast is over and her bowl is empty, she cannot just leave this post with you thinking about Astrid in her mini-skirt at the Albert Heijn for you can never be sure what the consequences would be of that occurrence! So let’s grab each other’s sweaty hands, step back in time, and jump to Astrid’s previous job!

Astrid her previous job was at a restaurant. She applied for a job at this restaurant together with a friend and they were both hired. However, they got different jobs. Astrid’s friend was asked to clean the dishes all day long, while Astrid was asked to bake pies and cookies all day long! Who said life was fair, right? And while Astrid’s friend managed to break the record one day of washing the dishes without breaking a single plate, Astrid managed to break the record of baking and selling fifty-four apple-pies on a single day! Now that’s something to write down in your letter to your grandma!

“A little red apple,
Hung high in a tree.
I looked up at it,
And it looked down at me.
"Come down, please," I called.
And what do you suppose?
That little red apple,
Dropped right on my nose!”

*Astrid runs straight into the emergency-room of the local hospital and questions the expression, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.”*

Astrid & Her Amazing Passion for Words – Adventure

Astrid thinks it is truly great when people are passionate about certain things in life. Luckily, Astrid herself has many passions in life for she is just that kind of girl who easily gets overly excited about things. She is a bit strange in her ways though for she loves driving so much that the other day she did not take the exit that she had to take to go home, but drove a little bit further instead just so she could “do” the traffic-lights again! Haha .. Also, unlike many people she loves to give oral presentations and to speak in front of tremendous crowds and Astrid must admit that now that she has no more classes at uni she misses these presentations like … supercalifajalisticexpialidociou misses an –s- at the end of the word!

However, currently her biggest passion in life is her passion for words! Isn’t it tremendous just to be a goof-ball with words? Haha ..

So Astrid got this magnetic poetry board up in her room and until now has created the following wicked phrases:

“Your gentle smile grows like blue grass on rich chocolate.”

“Every morning I life tremendous drops of honey and work out with evil angels.”

“Where I live laughing is a strong drink for a friend with an overwhelming gift in flying off to the sleepy moon.”

“Not a thousand devoted kisses can be as sacred as this guys playful hands that hold the honor of his awarded baby pictures.”

“I live in a fruit-world where my baby powerful whispers and I run like wild grass through the minds of red-heads feeling like pink roses in bloom.”

“Oh, another smelly god is falling off the moon on soft hair, but he fights the thousand tremendous curls by holding infinite smiles and marrying tiny goddesses with one ear and a sore cheek.”

“Make me like the overwhelming smell under my arm.”

“My car was sad to smell like a drooling puppy with an enormous egg.”

Well, this was all for now, goodbye my pals, smell you later!!!

*Astrid spreads her wings, presses the wrong button, and flies off*

Astrid & Her Amazing Owl Matt - Adventure

[I couldn’t sleep this night for I have some serious issues that are worrying me, but I don’t want negativity to take charge off my life or leave traces on my Blog, so I won’t post any of my worries. However, while I couldn’t sleep this night, I saw my pal “Matt” hanging above my bed and I wrote him a little tribute.]

Once upon a time on March the 8th 2005, there was an owl named “Matt,”
He lived in a wonderful store until Amazing Astrid adopted him as her pet,
She was kinda rude and until this glory day, never gave him a wonderful name,
But hopefully she’ll make up for it by giving HIM a few minutes of fame!!!

Matt is great at hanging in Astrid’s room, always looking movie-star good,
And even at six in the morning, ready for a hug and a loving photo-shoot,
He carries all of Astrid’s favorite nighties on his back without a single complain,
And always keeps up that friendly face even when Astrid acts nearly too insane!!!

On his belly lives his friend Mr. Genie, Genie in a Bottle that is his full name,
He sometimes falls on the ground and usually it is Astrid who is to blame,
But never does Matt become angry with her, so Astrid thinks he’s truly great,
I am really sorry Matt for never giving you a name, I hope now is not too late???

Astrid & Her Amazing Brother - Adventure

Yay! It is snowing here in Holland, so Astrid must take some time out to play with the snow!

However, while she is out in the snow playing badminton with her new pal “Mr. Snowman,” you might like to take a slippery ride on Astrid & Her Amazing Brother - Adventure ... Yeehaw!

So Astrid is not the only kiddo in the family, she has one older brother and he’s amazing too! I bet you just cannot wait to meet her mom now, huh? And guess what? She is amazing as well! Hehe ..

Anyhow, at the end of 2001, my brother underwent a massive surgery. The doctors had him on the operation table for nearly five hours with the aim to straighten his back by placing two titanium - pins and screws and everything in his back! Nice!

And after his heavy operation they called Mario and Luigi to move him, his spaghetti-and-meatballs, and his titanium-pins with screws and all to the High Care – section of the hospital. Astrid truly dislikes going there, coz she just hates to see people gasping for air and being kept alive by machinery. However, of course she and her lucky rocket-ship underpants went there to visit her amazing brother! Duh!

But when she saw her amazing brother lying there she felt so much pain and sadness inside of her that she was about to break out in tears. However, it was her amazing brother himself who would stop her tears from falling and would even make her laugh again!!! Coz even though her brother was full of morphine and was more asleep than awake, he had his clear moments. Although he would sometimes start snoring again in the middle of a phrase! Haha …

Anyhow, I don’t know if any of you out here are familiar with the deceased TV – show Friends, but when Joey wanted to make a move on a girl, he always uttered the phrase “How you doing?” and before the operation my brother would always make perfect imitations of Joey and his “How you doing?” - phrase and make Astrid giggle and smile with it and so when Astrid went to see him in High Care, the first thing that he did was his Joey – imitation and after his performance he also dozed off right away! Haha … he did not even wait for the crowd to go wild!

But even with his unstoppable humor, his recovery was long and hard! And then two years later -even though the doctors considered it to be impossible- he broke the titanium - pins, not on one, but on two places, just by walking to the train! I guess being amazing pays its toll! And once again, there was an operation, another ride with Mario and Luigi and the spaghetti-and-meatballs (but this time they were vegetarian), and another day in the High Care – section of the hospital, but due to my brother’s amazing-ness he came out again stronger than ever before!

I vote for a wave for my brother, the Titanium-Man! And now who wants a signed snowball by him? I think I could arrange a few!!! Be quick though, coz the first few posters will get the whitest balls!

All my love,

Astrid.
