Astrid & Her Amazing “From Bin-Liner to Space-Blanket”–Adventure
Once upon a time in the land of tea and scones, they decided to set the clocks. This would result in one hour less weekend and one hour less sleep for all people in the UK.

“Huuray!!!” Astrid thought, “I might as well run a few extra miles then too, since a human being can never have enough torture! So how about running 13.1 extra miles on a supposedly-lazy Sunday? Sure, can do, but let’s drag housemate Miss Frivolous Fran with me in the torture!”
So it must have been 8:30am when Miss Frivolous Fran and Amazing Astrid showed up at the start of the run. Boy, it was sure early in the morning and freezing cold and they were requested to wear bin-liners to make sure no one would be disqualified from the run for showing up in the wrong running-attire or for being too much of a snowman and so unable to run at all.

Still, Astrid was convinced she saw Dorothy and the Scarecrow of the Wizard of Oz without a bin-liner running along and also Robin Hood showed off quite a few drops of sweat without having a bin-liner on to catch them and it clearly had been a while since either of them had been in the fashion-department in Cosmopolitan, but Astrid still adored their cute little outfits!

Astrid got a fair amount of support along the way too. People waved purple flags, since that is Astrid’s favourite color, and Astrid was also introduced to new boyfriends on the way, making a wonderful sweaty impression.
The finish-line showed up after less than two hours. It should have been more on time though, but apparently it got stuck going around and around in a washing-machine. It did award Astrid, not with flowers, but with a very cool silver shiny space- blanket! Astrid liked the space-blanket so much that she asked her fellow competitors whether she could have theirs as well and Astrid is now the proud owner of four space-blankets and can do tent-building and all when having her friends over.

The best thing about the bin liner photo (and there are many good things about the binliner photo), is the little boy at the side, staring completely bemusedly at the 3 girls. He looks so confused.
